Осознанное Сновиденье” (Lucid Dream) by Tanir (#KazakhstanRap)

You can find the lyrics (in Russian) here.

With the help of some online translation, I’ve listed some lyrics below in English that stand out to me:

Just you remember, it’s your world, your neighborhood…

Suppose that the path is not smooth…

[but] Believe in your dreams, to realize where reality itself changes color.

Remember this is your world - your dreams…

- Special thanks to the audience member who recommended that I check out this artist among a list of other emcees that he wrote down for me after my performance lecture in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan.

Updates from #RAPtivism in #Kazakhstan! Part 2

The schedule has been busy since leaving Shymkent, Kazakhstan… The last few days I’ve been in Pavlodar and now Astana. In Pavlodar I had a press conference with local media, a radio interview with Oblradio, a performance at the House of Culture with the Pavlodar rap community, a presentation at the American Corner Library and a performance lecture at INEU University.

Then, after a long road trip, we arrived in Astana last night and I had the honor of presenting for wonderful students at the University of Arts! I also finally got to visit some of the local mosques in Astana (which were beautiful!).

Tonight I will perform at the Embassy for the Ambassador and esteemed guests as well. From the grassroots to lovers of hip hop culture everywhere, I feel that this tour in Kazakhstan has really allowed me to share RAPtivism with a range of people, challenging to open minds even in the most unexpected audiences…

Send love from this corner of the world to wherever you call home!

One love-

Getting amped for my upcoming tour in Central Asia! Checked out this Kazakh hip hop music video shot in Almaty, Kazakhstan today…

“Like a Flower Through A Stone(Тас Жарған Гүлдей)”

Watch for a little inspiration! Even if the lyrics don’t translate, the visuals and beatz definitely resonate…
