Unruly hair.
These the type of locks that set you free
My curly, frizzy hair is unconditionally me
‘The kitchen’ represents my rebellion to lines
Comb profiles like divided neighborhoods
Most don’t even know how to part my hair
It was not built to make you comfortable
…For your pantene pro-v
Listen up, cuz I’m pro-me
My hair goes in circles like I travel the world
It is understood in clockwise and counterclockwise motions
These genetic spirals evolve and transcend time
you could find the gene for revolution in the helix of my hair.

Don’t mess with it
It aint your petting zoo
Or property
I ain’t your barbie
And this is certainly not your playhouse
Let my hair be.
As soon as you learn to see the person beyond the hair
You’ll begin to understand me.
