Had the pleasure of performing with these two talented folks yesterday at Stanford University! To give you a taste of what went down, here’s a clip of poet @MarkGonzalesIs and violinist @Sisonstrings throwing down for a crowd at the Audubon Ballroom in NYC.

Also, on the social justice tip, here’s the vision statement for the Stanford Symposium that we performed at:

We have come together to examine our experiences of historical injustices and systems of oppression.
We are creating a space to celebrate the voices of those traditionally silenced and erased;
a space to ask questions, reframe debate and define freedom for ourselves.
Starting with the personal, we seek to discover what power and cultural agency we have to
transform abusive systems that kill into affirmative ones that heal.
We understand that our collective creativity has the power to enact this transformation.
Our vision is a movement toward the healing of the individual through the
empowerment of the truth that is already in our words.
Please join us on Tuesday to explore these ideas through the power of performance.

Big ups and much respekt!
